The COVID-19 pandemic has become a major concern for the people and governments across the world. The infectious nature of the Coronavirus and its easy-spreading make it an important event that no one from this generation can forget. It provokes the importance of Personal protective equipment(PPE) in people’s lives and become a more emotive subject.

As a precautionary action against the threat of COVID-19, CII Southern Region is organizing a Virtual Exhibition on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Medical Devices from 09 September – 10 October 2020 (One-month duration).

WHO IS CII?

The Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) founded in 1895, India’s premier business association. It especially works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, Government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative processes.

CII covers a wide range of private as well as public sectors including SMEs and MNCs with 9000+ members in hand. It is widely regarded as the most prolific non-profit-government and industry-managed organization that is tirelessly working on India’s development process.

In addition to its greatness, it has indirect members of 300,000+ enterprises from around 265 national and regional sectoral industry bodies.

In 2022, CII aimed to step up its self theme called India RISE(Responsible-Inclusive-Sustainable-Entrepreneurial) in partnership with the Government to boost the country’s growth and development.

ABOUT THE CII EVENT

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Kerala is organizing the 9th Edition of Kerala Health Tourism, A virtual conference & Exhibition on Healthcare, Medical devices & PPE from 09 October – 07 November 2020.

Kerala model of Health care has got wide regard all around the subcontinent during the COVID-19 pandemic. This particularly attracted many healthcare support seekers to get into the god’s own country, Kerala. It set an example of how a state should act on healthcare during such a pandemic.

This pandemic has shown the world the right destination to access low-priced medical procedures with world-class standards and state-of-the-art treatment facilities.

Medical tourism is an emerging concept herein today where travelers from one country move to another one to get beneficial medical treatment.

The main reason behind this traveling is that either the treatment is not available in their place or that the treatments will cost them a lot. Mostly, people around the world travel to major medical centers in well-developed countries to receive good quality treatments. 

But, in recent years, we can see there is an increase in the number of travelers from developed countries traveling to third-world countries like India for their medical treatments since they can find medical treatment at a very low cost.

INDIAN STATES ARE LIKELY TO EMERGE AS A MEDICAL VALUE TOURISM DESTINATION 

Medical tourism is becoming a growing industry in the recent past. As we know, tourists around the world moving borders in search of best-in-class and cost-effective medical treatment.

Some official records have shown that Indian medical tourism is moving at a rocket pace at 18%-20% CAGR. It is estimated that a worth of 9 billion been spent on medical this year and projected to have 20% of the medical tourism market share by 2020. 

To match the above stats, Indian had have seen 490,000+ medical travelers in 2017, now it’s 620,000+ and still growing. India’s advanced facilities, skilled doctors, and low-cost treatment make it an ideal spot for world medical tourists.

WHY TO CONSIDER KERALA FOR MEDICAL EXHIBITION THIS YEAR?

As we said earlier the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the 9th edition of the Kerala Health Tourism program. Now there might be a question that is been suspended with no answer, it is “Why to consider Kerala for medical tourism this year”?

Why because Kerala’s basic demography attract more foreign tourist as it was expertise in indigenous medicine can play a vital role in medical tourism.

“Thomas John Muthoot, Chairman, CII-Kerala, raised his voice about the importance of Medical Value Tourism. Hospital Industry in India witnessed a huge boom among  investor demand as it accounts for 80% of the total healthcare market” 

According to the Invest India report, the hospital industry is expected to reach $132 billion by 2023 from $61.8 billion in 2017; growing at a CAGR of 16%-17% percent.

In the end, we’d address Kerala as the upcoming Medical Tourism Hub under the tourism segment as it is moving in the right direction at a great pace. We assure you that it’s going to be an excellent brand by itself in the health tourism sector.
